Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew shared the findings of a 12-hour overnight visual inspection of the North-South and East-West Line with the media yesterday. In total, 61 rail defects were found and 13 trains were affected by the consecutive breakdowns of North-South Line. It was discovered that the location of dislodged claws coincides with the location of the floating slab tracks along the North-South Line. LTA has ordered SMRT to run trains at a slower speed at parts of the track where the floating slab tracks are located.
