Hon. Alex Kozinski, Chief Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was the speaker at the Annual B. Kenneth Simon Lecture organised by the Cato Institute. He spoke on the growing intrusion of technology in our daily lives and how this would impact our privacy.
In particular, he highlighted the government’s adoption of commercial technology such as Global Positioning System, Facebook and Twitter in monitoring and surveillance. There is also a growing concern of companies exploiting data gathered through the same commercial technologies.
